Visit the official 2019 Hawaii Information Tech Series website.Join FBC in March at the major military installations on the island of Oahu! This year marks the 26th consecutive year that FBC will coordinate the Hawaii Information Technology Series, a stretch of five one-day events. These events have become a yearly conduit to share information, collaboration, and to discuss cybersecurity best practices and IT modernization strategies. Meet Army, Navy, Airforce, and Marine personnel from Pacific Forces located on military-centric Oahu. The series includes events at Fort Shafter, Schofield Barracks, Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam (JBPHH), NCTAMS PAC – NSA, and Camp HM Smith – HQ USINDOPACOM. This is a great opportunity to interact with personnel in an environment that supports the DoD mission. Some Hawaii series events include training sessions provided by participating industry companies (talk to your FBC rep!). All technology products and services are appropriate for these events.
About Camp Smith
Camp HM Smith is the headquarters of Marine Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC), as well as headquarters for US Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) and Special Operations Command Pacific.
About HQ U.S. Indo-PACOM (USINDOPACOM)
The United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR) encompasses about half the earth's surface, stretching from the waters off the west coast of the US to the western border of India, and from Antarctica to the North Pole. There are few regions as culturally, socially, economically and geo-politically diverse as the Asia-Pacific. The 36 nations that comprise the Asia-Pacific region are home to more than 50% of the world's population, 3,000 different languages, several of the world's largest militaries, and five nations allied with the US through mutual defense treaties. Two of the three largest economies are located in the Asia-Pacific along with 10 of the 14th smallest. The AOR includes the most populous nation in the world, the largest democracy, and the largest Muslim-majority nation. More than one third of Asia-Pacific nations are smaller, island nations that include the smallest republic in the world and the smallest nation in Asia.
USINDOPACOM J6 is the main IT component at Camp Smith. The mission of PACOM J6 is to provide integrated theater C4 capabilities to the Pacific Command in cooperation with its regional military partners through network operations, operational planning and coalition interoperability.
The counterpart to USINDOPACOM J6 on the Marine side at Camp Smith is the G6. The G6 plans, directs and coordinates the training, staffing and equipping of Marines to augment and reinforce MARFORPAC with C4 capabilities.
