The Foreign Language Program Office (FLPO) of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and the National Cryptologic School(NCS) are
pleased to announce that the Translation and Interpretation (T&I) LEARN Workshop will be held
Monday, May 16th - Wednesday, May 18th,
on the campus of the Loyola Columbia Graduate Center, Columbia ,MD
We are looking forward to hearing from translators, interpreters, instructors, course
developers, and testing professionals on a wide range of topics related to the theme
"T&I Training, Assessment, and Resources." Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:
- Translation theory and practice;
- Translation course development;
- Translation testing;
- Online tools for T&I;
- Practical applications for T&I ILR Skill Level Descriptions;
- Interpretation training;
- Interpretation testing;
- Customer education for T&I;
- T&I self-assessment strategies; and
- Defining critical skills for T&I
The Translation and Interpretation (T&I) LEARN Workshop is open to translators, interpreters, instructors,
course developers, testing experts, and other language professionals of all languages from any USG-affiliated
institution. No vendors will be allowed to participate.
Funding for any associated travel expenses will be the responsibility of each attendee's organization.
